couldnt you spawn to BRF/verm with BRF cakes?

but i was wondering if i crumble cakes and mix them w/ more BRF... rather than spawning to coir or poo, what about BRF

You'd end up, spawning the cake to a sticky goo, that'll mots likely contaminate in no time.
Although BR is highly nutritious, it's not capable of holding much water, and doesn't really fit the purpose.

then why do people use it for jars? i'm lost. i just wonder about crumbling up cakes... mixing it up with MORE BRF and verm... so it makes a huge cake basically.

Yous said BRF, not BRF+Verm, my friend:wink:

Anyway, it's pretty much the same with BRF+Verm.
The substrate would get way too dense with big amounts (which is one reason, why 1/2 jars are advised).
In addition a bulk substrate is not sterile and materials, such as BRF are extremely nutritious, making it a super-magnet for contams.
