Maybe if coir was used in the casing but never do that.

Sounds like a lot of spawn, to me. You could easily make two tubs with 10 quarts of wbs. 18 gallon, that is. I am a boobie around here, though. Newbie, I mean.

How about this, instead? 5 quarts wbs, 1 brick coir (650 grams) prehydration, 1 quart spent coffee grounds, 2 quarts vermiculite, and 1 quart gypsum? Make 2 tubs. You're using too much spawn. It's not just a question of depth, it's of the ratio. All I'm saying is that you can get more doing of my way, but your free to do what you want.

depth is an important factor tho
3-4 inches is the perfect depth apparently

the ratio is 1:1 roughly with my recipe

10 quarts : 10 quarts coir with coffee and gypsum..  wouldnt that work?

wouldnt more spawn mean more fruits as well

i was also told that 1 quart of cofee and gypsum is to much even for my recipe....i was told to cut it in half

i dont have a second tub or time to make another one

i would atleast do a 1:2 ratio, it'll still colonize super fast, and double your substrate...like said before its completely your choice but 10q's of spawn seems too much..i used 4 quarts of spawn, using a 64 quart monotub, and its pumping out mad pins right now..going to produce really well by the looks of it so far.

Good stuff biologys, me too. Except no pins, yet, for me. Fast colonization, though. Lizard king and amazon are quick. Hoo ah!

i mixed brick of coir with 1 quart of verm, pasteurized of course then i did 4 quarts of spawn to 8 quarts of coir/verm , in my monotub, then i took the other quart of popcorn and spawned to 2 quarts of coir/verm and put in two smaller trays and put in fruiting chamber..i have mor ejars colonizing now soon as they're done i'm going to do the gypsum and coffee added to the coir/verm
