Hpoo question...
    #12023247 - 02/13/10 06:36 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

How well would an Hpoo that comes from a diet of corn, oats and straw produce mushrooms?

Probably pretty well. Make sure it's field aged and dry.

..so you're asking about the effect of horse diets on the quality of the poo?  You're hardcore.

Do horses eat many things, besides those things?

Thats fine too. Verm helps fluff the sub and retain water and gypsum adds calcium and sulphate both of which aid in the development of the mushrooms. but its up to you

fuck verm, if you have horses, it sounds like you do, then get some hay.  just put like 10-50% hay in the mix, and it works wonders

It's true, poo with corn in it is funnier.

Probably better too, ftw.

Hay is alright too. But verm is easier to work with and has less of a contam risk:thumbup:

Horses generally don't eat straw, they eat hay.  Straw = bedding and better than hay for substrate because it has less contam risk(from what I've read).  I do about 80%-90% poo to 10-20% verm, add more if it's too muddy.
