From either shaking the jar to break the kernels at spawning(most likely, if you just mixed spawn w/ in a day or two) or it could be the mycelium on the kernel drying out,in both cases,it is bruising.

Cool pics anonjon. I am using Otto's LC Tek because I only have a jar. None of those fancy filters or tyvek. I corrected his ratios to fit a 1/2 pint jar, about 190ml water and 12ml honey.
I added this to the jar, put the original lid on, and pressure cooked for 15 mins. at 15psi. It was allowed to cool overnight, where it was then inoculated with 1mL of a TC spore syringe. It's sitting in a dark, room temp place right now. A) How long will it take until I can use it? B) Should I refrigerate it once it's colonized, or not? C) Do you guys refrigerate your spore syringes? Mine are kept at about 70F...
A word to those who have problems with Shotgun FC humidity...I drilled a lot of 1/4" holes just like RR's video said to, and put in 4" of saturated perlite. But the humidity still stayed at 70%. The easiest way to fix this is simply to cover some holes; I covered most of the lid's holes with a towel and now it's at a constant 90-95%.
I find it odd that my cakes each had two or three pins in the jar, and now that they're in the fruiting chamber they're doing nothing.
I'll upload some pics of the LC and fruiting chamber later.

The blue occurs as it dries, and doesn't really go away.
As you're seeing it's really a challenge to get popcorn to fruit like a cake. It's really terrible for it. You might have had better luck leaving it in the jar actually.
I know 1 guy who had good success with this tho. He had a colonized popcorn jar, didn't know what to do with it, so he smashed it and fruited it.
The key was that he was constantly wetting it down. It just doesn't keep moisture in very well. If you can keep it constantly moist, you'll get some shrooms out it. I would keep humidity around 85-90 and just keep wetting it down every few hours if possible.
It's really a shame that you can't come up with some casing material. They don't have dirt where you live?
Regarding your other questions I have no use for spore syringes or lc syringes, I just mess with agar and grain transfer. No need to refrigerate nething. So don't know.

Sorry I've been unclear, I'm talking about my BRF/verm cakes. They were pinning in the jar and now that they're in the fruiting chamber they aren't doing anything.
About the popcorn- I'm waiting for my LC to colonize then I'll start it. I plan on casing with vermiculite, unless someone has a better idea that uses a readily available material.

moisture control potting soil is often used as a casing mix.

When you say moisture control, I assume you mean the miracle grow brand. What ratio of casing depth to substrate depth is best? Is there a good tek for using verm or potting soil?

you should try 50/ 50 caseing, there is a killer tek on here. i have had bad luck with strate verm. but you might do better.

yeah the 50/50+ mix is pretty optimal. It's peat moss/verm plus gypsum.
i just mentioned the potting soil as a last resort.
