Poss contam..

This is my first casing...here is how I did it. I used vermiculite, peat moss, and oyster shell for a mix. I laid down
a 1 in layer and then cut up 2 cakes in 1/4 in slices and covered the initial layer. I then covered the slices with
a 2 in layer of substrate. Btw I opted to pasteurize the substrate for 1hr 10 min. Its been about 48 hrs since I
put it in my aquarium. Im already seeing fluffy white growth on the surface...actually its in a specific spot. It
looks like mycel but Im not sure. I read the contam page and am worried I might have Trichoderma harzianum(green mold).
Does anyone think its to soon for the mycel to be at the surface already....Im thinking yes...but this is my first
casing so I really dont know. What do you think? Sorry dont have any pics

Give it some time, you?ll see soon enough if it will turn green or not.

Hmm, 48 hours for mycelium to poke through 2inches of casing material, am I reading that right?

After casing substrate, best to cover in tinfoil/platic food film, poke some tiny holes and put back into incubate for a few days - week.

CAn we see a pic??
