    #1201788 - 01/08/03 06:18 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

well it has been 2 weeks since i cased my cakes and there is already mycelia growing in some spots of the casing  put some verm were it started to grow at first. around 2 days ago. and now the other spots caught up. will it be ok now to put in the incubator and when should the top get took off. the strain is Puerto Rican and i read that they grow fast and i dont want to wait to long. too tell you the truth i really dont like to re-case  i get kind of nervous when i do it. thinking that i might contam it.. hopefully its all good..

You probably should fruit that now.

Puerto Ricans will continue colonizing the casing layer a little even after you fruit it.

I'm no master...I just retain alot of knowledge from what I read and try.
I like to play Master in the bedroom though.  :smirk:

str-8 should i take the top off already when i put it in the incubator and start giving it light too. and the temp should be around 80 and the humidity around 85% right dont want to get things mixed up...

Actually I think 75-76 is the perfect fruiting temps. I`d take the top off and let `er rip....sounds like it`s ready

Ummmm.. don't just take the top off and leae it uncovered!!!

Cover that casing with a transparent plastic bag.. any color works,, mine are green!!

a few times a day, lift the bag and let fresh air in.
