Re: using psychedelics to treat ocd [Re: yogabunny]

I suffer with ocd more about my looks.  I'll always be looking in mirrors and shit.  I don't really get stuck in the past.

I use the "STOP IT" technique.  It seems kind of dumb, but it works for me.

When you have a thought that you have identified as unhealthy, say "STOP IT" aloud to yourself.  If you keep doing that, you will find you will be less obsessive.

I had bad OCD about a lot of things, but doing that def helped me.

while consistent minor doses mask the problem more effectively than lets say SSRIs
id say a large dose of LSD 'cured' me of my mild OCD, at least for a few months
then i just dosed heavily again to 're-cure" it

for me OCD was a head game with myself, i was under the impression things had their place (like the desk chair goes in front of the desk) and it was easier to give in and put them in said place rather than disagree with it (like leaving the desk chair in the middle of the room)

but my experience with LSD was so spiritually revolutionary that during those eight hours of 'tripping', i learned that everything is always as it should be, and material objects have only the place we assign it to. i became less analytical and generally happier

at least for a while this was my mentality, until i gradually lose touch with this perspective and began falling into old habits of compulsive behaviors.
than i just reindulged in some LSD and reopened my eyes to a less obsessive and analytically lifestyle

shrooms to me help me realize my problems and understanding myself in a different light. but they do less to solve the problem and more to simply recognize it

i used shrooms to help treat my depression sometimes.
i've taken them when ive been in good head spaces and horribly bad ones.
i dont condone this as im still working the kinks out.
generally a heroic dose every few months seems to be the best.
use it to much and life gets mudded up a lil.
or someone just calls me crazy lol.
kinda feel like i understand what will hapan when i eat a shroom. its why i wish to mostly only do heroic doses bigger than the prior trips as they are fairly intense and drastically different each time.
i'm also on the verge of moving onto DMT and mescaline. hope the DMT can be a minor thing, maybe recreational, and the mescaline trips help me more.
i like meditating when in this altered stated as my head feels more clear.
