Saving colonized jars

Ok If I have a bunch of 100% colonized jars how long can they stay incubating before they need to be fruited? The reason I ask is I innoculated about twice as many jars as I needed because it was my first attempt at birdseed and on some of them I was using a homemade syringe that I was unsure of. So I figured I lose about half to contams. So far I have lost 0 to contams and most are betwen 80-100% colonized. Normally I would just fruit them all, but I don't have enough room for that. So how long can I save these jars before they need to be fruited?

You can do one of 4 things with your excess jars:
1. slice the top off of some 2 liter pop bottles and use these as mini terrariums
2.Wrap the bottom of the jars with tinfoil and cover the top of the birdseed with casing material (50/50, vermiculite, coco, ...) and let them fruit in the jars
3. Put the jars in the refridgerator in a black garbage bag so the cold will slow the colonization but the black bag will keep the light out and keep them from pinning invitro
4. Make a deal with a friend for 1/2 of the shrooms and prints if he'll fruit them in his place
there are probably a bunch of other things u can do but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

i don't know if hippie's neglect tek would work with birdseed, but it might be worth a try .
another thing you could try, if you have the climate for it is moe's outdoor tek .
maybe try a few different things, since you seem to have so many excess .
have fun, and let use know .

I was wondering about the outdoor tek but I'm in the midwest and temps in the winter here range from like -15 to 60 degrees and change with little warning. If I buried them now would they survive through the winter and start up in the spring when temps reach the right range?

i dont think so, but you could spawn it grain to grain and plant a big patch in the spring .

I think I may just fruit them out of the jars or make giant casings out of each strain I'm working with. It just seems like a waste to me since not to long ago I discovered spawning to straw. Nothing beats turning a pints worth of substrate into 50-100g dry on the first couple flushes, well except seeing your close friends reactions as you give them some of your harvest.
