If I were you I would get over my fear of snakes before you trip in the desert.

But still, chances are you won't see one; they can feel you coming from yards away and will most likely be long gone before you get there.

What's the deal though? snakes are cool as fuck.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like "I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive...." And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming "Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?"

Then it was quiet again. My attorney had taken his shirt off and was pouring beer on his chest, to facilitate the tanning process. "What the hell are you yelling about?" he muttered, staring up at the sun with his eyes closed and covered with wraparound Spanish sunglasses. "Never mind," I said. "It's your turn to drive." I hit the brakes and aimed the Great Red Shark toward the shoulder of the highway. No point mentioning those bats, I thought. The poor bastard will see them soon enough.  :fearandloathing:

I was with my grandpa walking his dog and a huge snake came out of a hole right under my grandpa's feet. It was pretty scary for a second, I forget the name, but it was a diamondback look-alike. His dog didn't smell it or notice it until after we did and the snake didn't seem to notice us coming. People say to be extra cautious of them when the weather starts to warm up or starts to cool down (spring /fall) because they are trying to soak up more sun and they are not so alert.

1) Bring a car
2) Fill it with shit that you need
3) If you can't accomplish steps 1-2, kill yourself

I carry guns with me pretty much everywhere i go, only exception being when I am tripping or drunk.

just carry a walking stick, if a snake gets close to you smack the shit out of it and run away

and if youre going to night trip in the Nevada desert bring a jacket cause it will be cold as fuck

dont be such a pussy OP.  snakes wont bite you unless you do something to them most of the time. And if you cant outrun a fucking rattle snake theres something wrong. And i wouldnt want to kill things i dont NEED to kill while im tripping, but thats just me.
plus theyre cool, especially tripping. i love seeing my boa move around while im  tripping

WRONGO SERGANT!!!

Rattlers RATTLE their tail when they sense something they don't like (EG: us)

They have a very distinctive sound. And in Neveda, I believe the only venomous snake is the diamondback. And honestly, if you watch your footing you shouldn't have anything to worry about. CAMP WITH A BUDDY!

ive been around/killed more rattle snakes than you have ever seen in your life

if you hear the snake then obviously you wont get bit by it

you get bit by rattle snakes that are sunning and are lazy or asleep and you step on them

please have less of an idea what you're talking about, thx.

If a snake bites me, its getting fucked up. But bringing a shot gun with you and getting really high, thats not really the smartest combo. Bring a big stick and keep some of your wits about you.
