What's your party or group that you stand by and why?

Curious,

In local elections, I vote with the issues. Usually I end up voting Libertarian or Green, depending on the position the person is going for. In national elections, I vote Republican unless I outright hate the Republican running. I believe the elephants are the lesser of two evils.

I'm a practicing anarchist.
I think all the parties are so filled with power hungry jackasses that anybody I vote for will just fuck things up worse.
That's why, on every election day, I get really baked and watch cartoons until the polls close.

Party -- Libertarian.

Why -- It's the only party dedicated to reducing government power over the individual to the bare minimum.

Canada is divided into ridings... I forget how many, two hundred and something I think, each one represents a seat in parliament. You vote for the representative for your riding, whoever wins, gets a seat. Each party has a leader, who is elected by the members of the party, and whichever party has the most seats, their leader becomes Prime Minister.

Oh ok, I knew places like England, ppl didn't directly elect the Prime Minister, but never looked into it further.

Thanks,
Dilauded

My allegiance is to an ideology rather than to a particular party. Those that are straight party ticket voters show very little intelligence. As a political analyst/consultant I have helped successfully elect candidates from both Republican and Democratic parties and from the ideologically left and right.

My ideology is one that I have crafted over many years and is still being refined. I am no sheep. The basis of my ideology is personal autonomy, the idea that man governs best when he governs himself. I like the idea that if you stay out of my business I'll stay out of yours. If you infringe on my right to govern myself I will do everything in my power to thwart you.

My test 'scores' tell a different story. Perhaps that is because I don't fit in a box very well.
