Outdoor monotub grow?

A friend of mine plans to start an outdoor monotub grow.
Before he starts,
If he used a seethrough tub Had the right tempretures Could protect from nasty slugs and such could mist daily
Would the principals be the same for an indoor monotub grow? And seeing as it was an outdoor grow would he need to worry about contaminations? Also would he be able to used a casing which has already seen 4 flushes?
Or even better does anyone know a good link to an outdoor monotub tek?
I can't seem to find one....

First off you don't reuse casing layers. Just follow any normal mono tek and put it outside if thats what you want to do

I have been doing outdoor monotubs for two years. I colonize them inside in the garage and then move them outside for fruiting. I have even colonized outside when I have been tight for space.
Outside monotubs work great. Just follow the normal monotub teks.
Breeze and diffused natural sunlight can't be beat.
Slugs won't get in. I had a rat push the polyfil into the tub and climb in and munch on the substrate. I tried to trap him but failed ... the neighbor's cat got him and left him for me as a present.
I have also flooded monotubs during rainstorms. The plexi-glass windows that I 'gorilla tape' in are not weatherproof.
Once you get little experience and work out a few bugs, they are easy.

SGFCs also work well outdoors.

i like how you suspend your trays above the perlite..allows more airflow from underneath..im going to use that for my indoor SG chamber im getting ready to start with two trays =)

So am I able to colonise outside as well? and not have to worry about contamination or should i still sterilise?

You'll want to pasteurize your bulk substrate.
I tape my monotub holes with duct tape during colonization and then use polyfill for fruiting.
I had a tub colonizing in the garage and one colonizing outside (in diffused daylight) .... put both into fruiting conditions outside at the same time ... and the tub that had colonized outside had pins in half the time the indoor colonizer had. 4 days as opposed to 8 days. MS and not scientific but interesting nonetheless.
edit: for biologys: you can use a plastic 'light grid' if you are doing cakes ...

no not cakes, just two small trays inside a SG FC, also have several monotubs setup ready to use, one already spawned and colonizing
this is my first grow attempt and have several trays, a monotub, and 5 cakes, so i learn exactly whatmethod i like the best :-P
