Misting

Ive iniated pinning a few days ago. Tyhe mycelium is forming in patches that look like califlower(sp?) on topof the casing surface. When I fan I can see the casing soil stirr a little. Can I mist without hurting the mycelium patches? Sound like a normal casing? Should I cover the patches with casing soil then mist? Thanks alot

Go ahead and mist it. The mycelium should retract slightly, this is normal.

Should be OK, but avoid misting when you see pins.

That seems a little odd to me. What are you using as a casing? If you're using coir, that means it is too dry. When coir dries out, it gets very light and flakey.

That means it is too dry with most casing mediums.

Good geuss Its coir 60/40. I misted and little drops formed on the mycelium. Not a heave mist or a mist for that matter more of a spray That wasent directed at it.
