IMO people are drawn to something for specific reasons in their personal psychology. Anyone who doesn't feel really comfortable doesn't become a real part of this community. Now this "monster" has been and is part of this community and he makes it what it is by contributing his vibe here. He feels comfortable here, he can play games or recreate himself or get the hell out if things get too real. It's all about his choosing. Now to complain about it like it's an outside force or some kind of a virus is kind of silly.

We all can use this place for change but that doesn't happen in spite of us, it happens because of us. That's how I see it anyway. Nobody here has turned me into anything I wasn't when I moved in.:satansmoking:

Not asking you.  The OP said he was having some trouble.

I don't know if you realize this, but when I ask a question it isn't just to stump someone.

What do you mean by "is"?  I don't intend to say "stumping" is if by that you mean an is of existence.  What I meant to put across is that I have no intention of arguing to "win".

In a game, winning is what happens when you do what it says in the rules that you need to do to win.

What do you mean?  Do you mean to ask what is "win" in general, or how I've used it?

Why else do any of us come here? In reality we just like to repeat our own thoughts in an attempt to validate our ego.

I barely read other people's posts, not necessarily because I don't care, but because there's often so damn many of them. It seems that mostly I'm seeking out posts that entertain me. I recognize people by their avatars and signatures, and rarely am I able to distinguish individuals from the storm of posts that is the shroomery.

As for being cynical, that's what a strictly rational worldview (as enforced in this forum) will do to you. You have to be able to embrace the absurd and the mysterious along with the rational and provable.

Accept the fact that people hold all kinds of ridiculous beliefs which change constantly with experience. There's really no use in trying to convince anyone of anything, and there's no use holding on to any belief yourself. There will never be a consensus on what constitutes Truth.

"There will never be a consensus on what constitutes Truth. "

There's already a consensus, but we've lost it by conceptualizing it.
