Planning a monotub this summer...

I already have all the stuff for brf cakes from my first grow so I was planning on spawning 12 brf 1/2 pints to a brick of coir for my monotub. I know this has been done, and that grains might be better, but will 12 half pints brf be okay spawning to coir or will the results be significantly lesser. I don't feel like gettin a pressure cooker and shit to do quarts of grains and shit...

thanks.. and feelfunny, would you consider polyfill a necessity or can i just tape the holes during incubation and maybe take the lid off once or twice. i'm using the "shotgun-ish" terrarium i used for my first grow btw.

The tub is 58 quarts, 24.9" x 17.2" x 12"
So should I be all set with one brick of coir and 12 1/2 pints as spawn? If my conversions are correct this should be about a 1:3 spawn:sub ratio.

Assuming your half-pints are about half full then that's about right. 8 quarts coir to 3 quarts pf cake.

Usually they end up being about half the jar size, since you save room for both a dry verm layer and room to inoculate, plus some shrinkage.
