Final Word on Homestead Kits

It's official people. After all the sidestepping, question answers and second-hand retellings, I have the straight dope on Homestead Kits. I bought my kit in November. Last night I harvested 90 g's wet, and today I got 170. The brick is clean and ready for a second flush, with no contams. Homestead Kits, while slightly more expensive, and even though using one is truly cheating yourself out of a profound love and visceral experience with mycology, they are very hard to fuck up as long as you wash your hands and take a little time on this site to get a basic understanding of how it all works. No bullshit, Homestead kits do work and they produce very nice fruits when used in syncopation with the very wonderful community of people at shroomery.org. I had one claw cluster from the same growth that was 130g total. I cannot wait for the second flush.
Thanks to all of you kind mycologists for giving me the tips I needed to be successful, and for sparking the flame of curiosity in my heart for this wonderful hobby.

yeah, heres a picture of the first 80 g's I harvested, and a picture of the claw as a baby. We already ate it, but it grew up to very big and strong!
LET THE MYCOPORN COMMENCE!

I can see paying $100 to get it all delivered right to me all in one box. I didn't, but I can imagine doing that.

I would say the 70-90 extra bucks is covered in labor and time saving. Im not saying it's truly better than DIY but for some people it is. It is actually really cool. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and though I will be moving on to making these bags myself, I cant say that I regret having bought the kit at ALL.
I love mushrooms and I love all of you. I had a huge trip last night with about 8 friends, and the connection was strong as hell. Now I can truly feel that I am part of a big family that loves me. Shrooms are somethin else man...

It fed me and my friends quite nicely. This isn't an advertisement at all, I just had a lot of trouble finding reliable information on the kit because everyone is too up their own ass to answer the question, does it work?
YES, it works. No more stupid ass snarky answers, it fuckin WORKS! BOOYAH!

does it suck because it doesn't produce reasonable amounts of quality mushrooms
or
does it suck because it isn't home made, hacked from popsicle sticks and garment bags, and original in design?
i don't necessarily agree or disagree with either answer; i just would like more detail to the assessment than, "It sucks."
hell, you could think it has poor aesthetics.

all of the above. they are way too expensive and not much better yield than pf cakes. a mono tub is cheap as fuck and pwns the shit out of any kit. consider this- you can grow ounces per flush using a plastic bin that cost $5 or less and using grain that you can easily find for cheap and prepare yourself..
