Tapalpa or B+ With Birdseed?

I just threw two 1 litre mason jars in the pressure cooker with penningtons wild bird feed. (lots of white millet). I'm gonna be following DethHeads Birdseed Tek . I have two options... Tapalpa or B+. This is my first attempt at a bulk substrate and I was wondering which one I should use. I don't know anything about tapalpas so I was gonna go with the b+ but I was just wondering what you guys think I should do. Both syringes are 12cc and I am gonna put 6cc per jar. Thanks ahead of time for any feedback!

Either strain should do well in my opinion but personally I`d go with some smaller jars at first. The seed will colonize faster and the faster the reach 100% the less chance of contams. Quart jars.....or liter take quite awhile to colonize. Good luck.... millet rocks !!!!

the reason i am using such large jars is because i have two large casings to fill. I know its a bit much for my first time using a bulk substrate but I think I will be fine.

just do more half pints or pints.... and acheive the same amount of spawn  :cool:

No opinion as to strain. 6cc per is just too much though. In my experience you won't achieve any benefit from that much spore water. You could cut that in half or less and not see any difference.
By the way, I use quarts with good results.

thx guys. RoadKill, I think I will use the b+. The jars are cooling right now while I'm watching "Lord Of The Rings" "Two Towers". They will be innoculated in the morning. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

you really shouldn't use more than 3cc per jar for grain.
you will mess up the water content and possibly get the Mean Green or a bacterial contam.
more isn't always better.

i have some. i got it from a friend...

they are the shit.. i posted a pic in the pic forum.. i have a couple prints that are about the size of a coke can.. no shit.. they are the largest fruits ive seen.

edit: the size of the actual coke can circumference, not the lil bottom part :grin:
