Cloneufc's 360 degree LC inoculation tek

The object of this tek is to provide more inoculation points. Its not meant to inject large amounts of LC, although it does provide more. First you'll need atleast a 1 1/2 inch needle. Second you have to make sure your moisture content is correct. I have been doing this for several months now and its working great for me.
Drill a hole like this and place micropore tape over it.

When you inject your needle make sure it is at this angle and shooting toward the glass.

Inject the needle into the micropore tape. With the other hand hold the bottom of the jar and rotate 360 degrees while injecting Lc into the jar at a steady pace. If you can walk and chew gum you can do this. I used flour and food coloring as an example. Its not a great example but you get the idea. It looks alot better on grain.

This is what it will look like after a couple days. I works out even better on grain. This jar is manure and rye grass seed.

Thanks. I have had jars finish very very fast but some of it is dependant on the speed of that particular mycelium.

Sorry to bump this, but just saw it in your sig and thought it was a great idea. One question: How much lc do you inject on average? I guess it would take some getting used to, but I could see myself accidentally injecting half a syringe by accident cause I'm not good at multitasking.

It really depends on how wet or dry the substrate is. When making my substrate I go a little on the dry side so I can use more LC. There is no correct answer, its better to use less than to get it too wet.

hey this looks like a really nice tek, i will definitely be trying it. just wondering whether you use a vermiculite layer at the top, or do you replace the micropore tape after injecting the lc?

was just wondering..do you sterilize the jars in a pressure cooker or can you just pasteurize them? If you sterilize them how long do you sterilize them? 60 min 15psi?

I skip the verm and just add micropore tape.

You sterilize them in the PC. Grains 60 min for 1/2 pint and pint jars @15psi. Grains 90min for qt jars @15psi. PF tek 45min @15psi.

I've never seen anyone use manure and rgs. I wonder if it's steam sterilizable.... . How did it perform in the end? I mean, it's manure, so I would imagine pretty well.

It worked just fine. I had some jars left over from P. Mexicana. I use rye grass seed and manure for sclerotia producers. You just treat it like grains and PC for 90min.

Just a question - if you shake your grain jar after inoculation, whats the point of doing this at all?

Who said its only for grain? It works for cakes. It works for other substrates. I dont shake my grain jars,I dont need to with this tek.

How can it works with the Dry verm barrier? In the pic you show the angle it goes through the hole. In that picture it would not even make it past the dry verm barrier. The 4 innoc holes on a PF cake already give it great colonization times.

It wont work with the dry verm barrier. If you just use micropore tape and skip the verm it works just fine. Verm is messy and costs more money, tape is cleaner and cheaper.
