Agreed very much, lessismore. That's the essence of it, and it's very simple.. Just to follow what brings strength and health - along w/ happiness.
This I came across a couple days ago, loved it..

I always recognize the clarity of mind when I hear Tolle, I sometimes wonder how he gets there
But that makes sense, I learn a lot from my birds and houseplants too :-)
It's amazing how long you can stare at a houseplant/plant in your garden :-P
Pure beauty to every detail, and cats and birds equally so

Tolle is a great one.
He and the Dalai Lama seem to be on a similar wavelength.
At least, when I see them in a conversation with several others, I find their viewpoints very worth-while.

ok I had a couple from sci-fi, or fantasy shows.. .
the first one is the best in my opinion.
'I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay.' - Gandalf
then this from star trek, really spoke to me (it's not quite word for word)
'The cause of peace is a just cause.' - Worf
'But it is futile. I cannot change things.'
'You have already changed things more than you realize.'
a few by Margaret Fuller,
'To one who has enjoyed the full life of any scene, of any hour, what thoughts can be recorded about it, seem like the commas and semicolons in the paragraph, mere stops.'
'When the intellect and affections are in harmony; when intellectual consciousness is calm and deep; inspiration will not be confounded with fancy.'
'Art can only be truly art by presenting an adequate outward symbol of some fact in the interior life.'
'Every relation, every gradation of nature is incalculably precious, but only to the soul which is poised upon itself.'
a lot of it is about selecting the good or best from someone
this
'If nature is never bound down, nor the voice of inspiration stifled, that is enough.'

Tolle, Dalai Lama, Ram Dass are the ones I've found by "mistake", in weird ways once in a while, over and over
Never heard about them before though ;-)
But they each seem to say the same in some ways , they each seem to be pretty close to the source, at least enough that I can respect them as teachers
some I respect as teachers, some I respect as humans
some I know that no matter what they say it is truth, since I haven't heard a wrong word out of their mouth yet
a teacher usually doesn't go back towards the dark side, they usually adhere to the truth
"once you've seen the light, you'll never forget, you cannot but share it" like you said :-)

Definitely
I have spent a while of my life exploring that concept. .
Viv expressed it nicely, 'Every step I make in Light is mine forever.'
Best I can say is that there are quite a few states of non-regression. . .
yours is just as expressive, however.
These two really spoke to me:
'Existence is as deep a verity: Without the dual, where is unity?'
as well as,
'One presence fill and floods the whole serene; Nothing can be, nothing has ever been, Except the one truth that creates the scene.' - Margaret Fuller
For me the character of the person speaking is of so much importance. . . some people don't understand this, but as I continued on, it made more and more sense to me.
those two were from here: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Margaret_Fuller

I don't really know any of them personally, but I can often 'feel' people even from a distance
But I agree about that with the character
Character also builds your clarity of mind, you need a great will strength to get get clarity
So by hearing a few words, or several times from a person I can usually know their strength to some degree
Great strength gives great clarity Great peace gives great clarity Love gives clarity
If you have love you have strength as needed
If the person always is clear in his communication, almost like in direct contact with source, I know the person has great strength - or that the person was born to do that, or both

I bet most spiritual teachers have seen 'hell', because usually we have to make light from the darkness in ourselves
"The deeper the hell, the lighter the light"
At least I cannot describe what I've been through since awakening, that's a lot, but it has been equally rewarding

I agree with this very much
I also have noticed the same thing - and there have been some interesting things in my life. . several teachers, I don't even know how I found them!
Very fortunate and glad that I did, however. Amma and Mirra Alfassa, very like Ram Dass in their way; I felt called to. .
As well as, well there are very many. It is a wonderful guide, the intuition, so well-worth it to develop it. I feel a lot of people consider it to be. . in my life, I have always followed the process of letting it develop naturally, and spent time on the good things, and by so doing, the rest grows in its time. . .
Once again, another Margaret's quote you brought to mind
'It is astonishing what force, purity, and wisdom it requires for a human being to keep clear of falsehoods.'
And there is another, by Sri Aurobindo. . . or Vivekananda, I am not quite sure - it was, along the lines of, 'Purity really is a force.'
Found that to be interesting.

Yes, there is something to that, for sure -
'Heaven wouldn't be so high I know, if the times gone by hadn't been so low.'
However, I think it would be a mistake to take that to mean we have to experience great pain to experience great happiness - only a little is enough. . . though I have been through enough to become freed of ego several times over - I would not say it is necessary or recommend others to do so, just to achieve non-attachment.
The essential thing would probably be to understand that clarity and peace, are essential for getting higher insight. .
The better we are at learning - too - the less we have to go through certain lessons.

My favorite are Book quotes.
My Revelation Ch13, the Mark of the Beast is accepted on the right hand. Rev 9, Verses20-21, "they" repented not of their fornications nor the work of their hands.
My Sura 5, Verse 38 (quranexplorer.com), As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands.
The Sura is called "the Table," as the place of rusty blade hand chopping.
Sura 5 is the number of the Sphere of War with KabAllah.
I consider the intended meanings of the verses somehow true, and suspect if Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, is the Book law, that an actual hand has been stolen.

A human being is part of a whole, called by us the "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in it's beauty. - Albert Einstein
