Guide music?
    #1187280 - 01/03/03 08:42 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend any music or cd's that will guide a tripper to another world? =]

Ie. I'm after a cd which has someone talking you through a world, giving clues and seeding the mind, but yet leaving enough room for one to fill in the gaps.

e.g. a cd with rain forest sounds in the back ground and some geezer going something like: "look you see a frog, and he is smiling up at you... he then says ....", or a cd with space ship sounds with someone describing a alien world.

I'd also be interested in ones where there is spiritual and/or science essence to it, or which take you to various other places (e.g. outer space / the world of the atom /etc.).

Many thanks.

Shpongle is exactly what you are looking for.

It's ambiant psychedelic trance. They have a tribal, indian feel to them. The music is inviting, it's smiling at you, it's very warm and familiar. It's extremly complex; sounds and beats morphing into other beats; the music is speaking to you, showing you the meaning of things...

Don't just listen to it, though. Ride it with your thoughts; listen, and ask yourself questions; don't think about pointless things. When I get into it, my thought patterns are totally changed, just like when I'm tripping.

Start with the usual questions; "Does God exist? Do I have a soul?"

When you really get the hang of it, move on to more elaborate things...

Some people never really get into it, though. But if you do, you'll be in shock.

I suggest you buy a CD instead of getting the music from the net. MP3 quality really doesn't do much compared to CD quality.

I hope you have a good sound system! Enjoy!

Shpongle, as the other kids said- I have a slight inclination to Are You Shpongled?

Also: (group - album)
Future Sounds of London - Lifeforms
Future Sounds of London - Dead Cities
Legendary Pink Dots - A Perfect Mystery (harder to find, so just look around for them, and an album of theirs. feel free to ask/PM me if it's a good one for your purposes -some are a little dark)
Coil - Musick to Play in the Dark, vol. 1 (Coil can be kinda dark, so ask if you find another album besides this one)

War of the Worlds works, if you get a version with musical interludes.

i recommend you listen to

boards of canada - music has the right to children
boards of canada - geogaddi
pink floyd - shine on your crazy diamond part 1 - 9

these albums and song have opened my mind up about myself and how nature is so beautiful. also at a level 4 trip i had a peak of what our life cycle was about. but that is what i can remember.
hope this helps
