Gymnopilus Aeruginosus??? (nor-cal, good pics)
    #11885983 - 01/23/10 04:41 PM (14 years, 2 months ago)

I live in Pebble Beach, California.

I just moved here from South Florida (bye bye cubes) and am looking to find some local actives...

I've always remembered these because they are a yellow/orange color.

Habitat: Dead wood, presumably dead pine since it's mostly pine trees, and these were growing under pine trees.

gills: look at pics

stem: look at pics

spore print: coming

Recent Weather: Rained like crazy for the past week. today is first day without rain and with a lot of sun.

As you can see it's a cluster.

or am i completely wrong?

Thank Ya

Gyms have an interesting flavour.  Most people call them horribly bitter, I didn't think they were that bad, but they did turn my tongue orange and gave me horrible gas, but no buzz (mine were G. Luteofolis).

That could be me though as I didn't catch any buzz off 20 grams of fresh P. Cyanecens either.

its not unheard of for people to eat 20-40rams of dried luteofolius in order to feel the effects from the kavalactones. the OPs mushrooms aren't one of the active ones though, or so it appears.
