casing resuscitation?
    #1187033 - 01/03/03 07:27 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

if one had let a casing completely dry out by forgetting to replace the lid after allowing air exchange and light exposure and leaving for holiday break, what are the chances that the addition of water to the fully colonized casing and bringing up the humidity could revive the mycellium and allow it to fruit?
previously, the casing was just beginning to set pins, and now it seems as if it may have recovered, smells nice and fungusy and no contamination is present.

has anyone had experinece wth a similar situation and what was the outcome?

(unlike a similar post, overheating was not the issue, just dehydration caused by an arid environment)
