Wet vs. Dry potency idea...

I have read mixed things about mushroom potency at dry/wet, some saying it doesn't matter and some say wet are more potent. If psilocybin/psilocin are water soluable, and you evaporate all the water out of a mushroom, aren't you losing potency? Does anyone know for sure on this?

No... just because water leaves doesn't mean everything else leaves with it. If that were the case, half the chemicals in the mushrooms would evaporate along with it.

only psilosin evaporates when dried and the psilosin conten is very small compared to the psilocybin. And some of the psilocin converts into psilocybin. So yes it does loos potency and from expeirience they are so so much better wet

>only psilosin evaporates when dried and the psilosin conten is very small >compared to the psilocybin. Psilocin doesn?t "evaporate" that simply. Some is broken down to other non active substances though. >And some of the psilocin converts into psilocybin. Now this is new to me. Can you point me to where you got this information?

hum. is it just me...
im planning to, when i get as good as most of you guys, (like getting 50g dry per flush and week)
i?ll just turn it in to powder, or tabletts, or liquid.
100gram dry shrooms, is about, 300mg 100% pure Psilocybin and or Psilocin.

Anything will oxidize when exposed to open air. Especially the alkaloids in mushrooms. You can expect more potency loss if you use heat to dry them, too. It's not that detrimental though. I'd rather eat them dry and ground up anyday because I've learned from experience that my stomach can't digest the tissues very well, and I usually end up puking and then my trip is gone soon after that. And Teonan, I can't agree with you more. Rotten mushrooms are absolutely sickening.

I have noticed a major different feeling eating dry compared to wet. eating dry gives a much better trip. me and a few others aggree on this. see what yall say.
my theory is the psilocin in fresh mushee (that is not present in dry shrooms)when indested is turned to the other chemical but is noticed by the mind and causes it to "shit" ^^ wierd but proves all too true
