Are mine ready to pick? please look at pic
    #1186612 - 01/03/03 04:58 AM (21 years, 5 months ago)

This is from a grow kit from magic plants.co .uk, The caps seem to be turning already yet the shrooms look so small! Someone told me they haven't had enough air but the instructions say to only give them air for an hour when they have reached 1.5cm. They have been sitting in the myco style bag near a radiator.
Do I pick them now (the caps to appear to be turning)?
Will they still be ok to take spores from so I can start from scratch using the PFtek method?

no, wait another couple days until they break their veils. they will grow significantly bigger and picking them after their caps unfold will allow them to mature to full potency. good luck.

From the looks of them, they are not going to get much bigger. There might be a few that could be pulled in a day or so but the majority are done.

Lacking proper air exchange would be dude's first guess.

Thanks for the advice. What is the best way to pick them. Is it by twisting or scalpel at the bottom of the stalk?

shallow trays and a small-fruiting strain would be shirley's guess. shirley had all the parameters at optimum, except the substrate layer was only an inch, and he grew a bonsai strain. what strain you got?

and who cares if they are small, so long as they're potent! what you got there, 2 dry grams? enough for a test dose!

2 grams? I'd say 6-8, especially with chubby on the lower left.

I'd say start with 2g dried. Those little fuckers can be super potent sometimes.

I got Mexican strain. I have picked them all now and they are drying out in a container with silica gel. Two of the shrooms weighed in at 5 grams wet, so I'm guessing the whole lot dried will be about 10g,I'll let you know tomorrow.
I also picked a giant white lump(lower left of pic) which is like a mutant shroom with 3 caps. I'm quite scared of that one!
I'm sitting here drumming my fingers and trying to decide wether to trip. Hmmm.
