Mycobag pinning question
    #1186492 - 01/03/03 06:09 AM (14 years, 2 months ago)

My bag is fully colonized and I was wondering if all I need to do is cold-shock it and give it some light. My fridge is 38 degrees fahrenheit. Is that ok? Also, how long should I leave it in for. I read 12 hours min. in the FAQ but I was wondering what has done best for you guys.

~Peace

You can.. but you don't HAVE to...

expose it to light in the 75 degree range and they should pin in a week or so.

hope it helps.

I threw thm in the fridge anyways. I'll probably just leave them in for 12 hours.

I gave my mycobag light for about 2 weeks and no pins. It was fully colonized. I cut open the bag and dunked the "cake" in the bag and cold shocked it. Nothing happened, and then did another cold shock/dunk, and voila pins. Hopefully you won't have to go through that.
