Faith

I noticed there was a post regarding faith, but I wanted to start a new one so people would read my little opinion. Anyways, I was listening to an Alan Watts lecture, and he explained how faith preceeds beleif, and is more important. The basic assumptions that humans operate on is faith. If I didn't have any faith, I would probably wonder around being sad all the time. I have faith that whatever created us knows what he is doing. I will refer to this whatever thing that made us as god. It often seems like God screwed up many things. But I think it is myself screwing myself over, and not realising my godly nature.

"I have faith that whatever created us knows what he is doing."
You don't have any reason to believe that though. You don't need to believe this to be happy, and you don't have anything even remotely resembling proof.
Life is whatever you make of it. You can see it as a wonderful opportunity to accomplish and experience anything, or you can see it as a slave existance where you're forced to serve some unknown force that you don't have any proof exists.

Just because you're grateful doesn't make you a slave...
I don't believe in god, but we can't be certain whether it exists or not...
Keep an open mind, and you will never be surprised

I don't have any reason not to beleive it. And of course I don't need to beleive this to be happy. I do have a lot of reasons to beleive it true, from experience. But instead of the word beleif, I prefer to say faith, which is the point of my post. The gods I make exist within my own head, and sometimes I make them serve for me.

I said I would call this mysterious force god. I don't care what you call him, allah, Tao, I tried my best to point that out, I said I would just refer to it as god to make things easier to explain.

Yeah, that's exactly what I've said a bazillion times.

7 tabs of LSD, I had a feeling of immortality, and could create any reality I wished. This was transcendance, not being stuck on the death rebirth cycle. I could loose my ego at will, or change any concept or metaphor.

Some achievements are not measured on the material plane... In fact, the best ones are not, because the material plane is finite.

Yes, but they are seperate from the material one, and only some we can even recognize. Others can only be glimpsed in certain states of altered consiousness, and that's hardly a place that science has any real worth, because... how can you scientifically explain for instance, a dream, if you are not inside the dream?

I understand you have a strong beleif against anything that is called god. So I will attemp to explain what I mean. I take on a god form, yes it is completely in my mind. I don't have to prove anything, I make a model of reality, a reality map. Everyone has their own reality map. The reality map is different than actual reality. The menu is not the meal. I can feel like godliness if I want, wheather or not god really exists or not. One thing I do know, is that everything is not just randomness, order is formed from randomness. The game is just too perfect to be all coinsidence.

MAYBE the being referred to as God is just some guy tripping and "materializing" this reality. Maybe this entire reality is the delusion of some 17 yr old kid, trippin balls.

Exactly! Words are not substance, yet that is all that has ever been produced when it comes to any kind of esoterica.

And MAYBE physical form is "materialized" as well. How can we know for sure if we are still inside it? Go outside it, and look back in on it.

Go inside and look out on it. Then you will see that the inner and outer are one in the same. That they exist together in perfect harmony.
