Possible Psilocybe Cyan.??

Hi there, I found this a few days ago while on a bike ride in the park (quite randomly actually, I was looking for a spot to take a leak... ). It was growing out of wood chips under a growth of trees (sorry I don't remember which kind), and some of those primitive geraniums were nearby. I'm kind of excited because I've never actually found any despite some effort, and there were a few more fruiting (this was the oldest, and obviously, a bug of some kind got to it before I did). Here's a picture (I'll take some better ones soon):
And another:
Please tell me if you need any other info. (Again, better pictures soon)
Thanks!

yes Cow is right- better pics are needed for an ID and which location you found them in would help more as well-
Anyways- To me, I can say that they don't look like cyans, and If your not from Washington or Northern Cali- I could Definitely say they aren't.

You'll need more than just a picture right now
What color were the gills, what color is the spore print, (I cant tell from that picture). Was there any sort of veil? Is the stem bruising blue?
Where abouts are you in the US?

it looks to me that both the stipe and gills are reddish brown. combined with the wood substrate, this may indicate a galerina. i'd get a better oppinion though.
-------------------- Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

That could very well be a cyan, I see no reason to say that it's not. But there's no reason to say that it is, because the pics are no good and those damn slugs don't help anything either. The stem is obviously not white, which is normal if it has become totally blue/black.... you should definitely see some blueing, if the stem is not bluish black then your screwed. I think your best bet is the spore print, is it DARK purple-brown?

HI again, SOrry, it's been a while... I've dipped into some (not my proudest) digital photography since. Here's a better close up of everything: Here are a couple close-ups of the print (not the best in the world, thanks to the aforementioned worm): Now a few of the stem: Yeah, don't worry, it would be pure Darwinism at work if I actually ate this thing now. I'm not even sure I will even if I get get ten people telling me it's what I hope it is. Again, it my first (potential) wild find, so I'm a good bit cautious about it. Oh yeah, it was found in the SF bay area. The stem and caps have stained blue (unless my hope is blinding me), and the print looks purple (unless my hope is blinding me ) Oh and click on the pictures for bigger, I guess these are just thumbnails (I'm new to all this so bear with me here...) Thanks again!

The second pics help a little, but as you said, it's sketchy at best. . .I'd lean towards cyanescens, the stem really looks like it was once white; the 'others' will tend to fade into a more ruddy/tannish color. The spore print looks close, but it's not thick enough for my eye, in that photo, etc.
Once all these guys begin to dry, though, ID becomes very difficult; Then sporeprint is your only tool, and from the second pics it's still tough to be definite.
One single specimen isn't likely to give you much of an experience anyway, let's wait until you find the big patch of freshies next time.
If it's any consolation, you are at least *damn close*

It has potential at being a Cyan, but your best off keeping a print, and throwing the rest out. It looks like it will be rotting any day, and one mushroom that size would be worthless to consume, given the potential risk of it being something you are unsure of.
