This is something I've been wanting to get into for quite a while now. I don't know a great deal about it, but I wouldn't think that you'd be able to get very far without the necessary hormones, amino acids and enzymes.

Ive been researching this and you gotta read up on it as the requirements for different plants vary so much.
Im currently studying the book "plants from test tubes, An introduction to micropropagation" by Lydiane Kyte and John Kleyn, while I gather together all the different ingredients and tools required.
In the book they suggest a homebrew version which sounds exactly what you are looking for.
Ive scanned the page for you.
Though I know from experience that at the end of the day you're gonna have to go and read the books and buy the right gear and just do it properly to get consistent results that make you happy with the work you're putting in.

The technique varies from plant to plant as does the recipe.
Hey OP, what plant were you thinking of practicing on?
