THIN SPORE PRINTS
    #1185109 - 01/02/03 11:01 AM (22 years, 19 days ago)

I have been workng with a great PF TEK strain for years and for the past six months or so all spore prints have been much thinner- not thick and dark like they used to be...Will the strain weaken with time? What I do is place cap in sterilized jar with loose lid in a cool dark place for a couple days, then i remove cap and keep lid loose for another couple days to dehumidify, I then tighten lid and store- Thanks in advance for any advice!

Well, much of the spores have already dropped after 12 hours, so leaving it to spore print longer will just increase the quantity of spores by a little.

My first thoughts are that if you're using a multi spore incoculation, then you should have chances at dark prints, as well as crap ones, since they don't all follow one genetic pattern. It really depends on the luck of which cap you cut and the spores it contains.
