Does freezing the spores in the freezer, destroy the spores? Have about 10 spores in the freezer now been there for about 2-3 months now...

The freezer will kill the spores. The fridge, on the other hand, will do the job. Try doing some jars....see if they're still viable.

yes, i would assume that spores in a freezer for 2-3 months are now useless. still it wouldn't hurt to try them for knowledge sake if nothing else.

to be honest, i wouldn't waist your time or substrate... ive made that mistake in my noob days. it was a lost cause and i had to throw it all out and resterilize and all kinds of shiat.... i would just get a new print or syringe and go from there.

i did go strait to casing. i don't innoc a premade casing. of course you have to go through the steps as you would a cake.. nothing changes there. except not 'plopping a cake' i breake it up and and case it... wheres the confusion?

casing is just a layer over substrate. the substrate can be anything certainly not limited to a cake.

your right. it does include casing any type of substrate. but breaking a cake up and puting a 'casing' layer over it, is a casing. i was merely talking in the sense of what i do... thats all

I know this tread is pretty old, but I just wanted to mention that I kept my spores in the freezer(-28 degree Celsius) for 5 months, because I didn't read it would kill them and they still germinated.
-------------------- All Of RR's Notes On Mushroom Cultivation Forum - a must read
Everything I post is completely fictitious, and for your amusement only. All the pictures I post are either photoshopped or ripped from the internet. Whenever i trade for spores it is for examining the spores under microscopes to see their characteristics. There is no reason why I would ever want to nor will I grow mushrooms containing psilocybin.
