MycoBag Questions

I bought 3 mycobags. December 13 I inoculated them, I kept them In my Closet near the heater covered by a blanket. It is now January 2nd and only 50 percent of each bag is colonized? What can I do to make them go faster? Its about 78 degrees in the closet so its not as warm as its supposed to be, but thats why I think is slowing it down. Also, I wanted to know if anyone knows any helpful ideas or methods that would help me after colonization. Im new to this, any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Raise temps to 85, and massage the mycelium around.

I've heard that massaging a partially colonized mycobag can help speed colonization. It has the same effect as shaking a partially colonized grain jar - mixes the substrate and mycelium. Good luck.

Hey, Hey you! You could try SHAKING the bag. Mixing all the ingredients together will speed up the growth quite quickly.

thank you all for your help, I bought the mycobags because my curiouslity in shrooms was growing and there were just none around. So i spent some cash on the easiest method. I just started posting, because before I had nothing to say, i just listened

hey u could make an incubator to keep ur bags at 85-86 for faster colonization times, i bet everyone here that has contructed an incubator would aggree with me that it has helped tremendously. do a search for incubator and u will get tons of home made ideas. it defintly helps ur colonization times.
