Looking for Best Material/Books on Chakra's (Describing, Defining, Balancing)

I'm getting into the whole chakra thing.
With some good help and guidance from some very incredible people, I was able to connect with parts within my body that allowed me to take more control of my life, by targeting and 'working' those specific areas.
Forces (likely my own) were directing me towards my solar plexus by means of physical discomfort in that area.
The solar plexus is a network of nerve cells, under the sternum and behind the stomach. This is where the 'butterflys' come from when speaking in front of an audience.

(Yellow/3rd Chakra)

I hadn't slept in about a week. This drawn out experience surmounted into an intense mental challenge, one that forced me to find a solution for the discomfort in my solar plexus, as well as having to control my thoughts like never before. Spending 6 nights being almost fully conscious the whole time can potentially take a steep dive towards madness (literally).
I had now become an intensely aggressive and intense person from having to deal with this. Things that would not move me before, now were making be furious and it was difficult to control myself. I was able to control myself just enough so that I wouldn't bash that persons face for looking at me and smiling. I refused to depend on sleeping pills to find some sleep. I don't believe in pills.
Anyhow, to make a long story short (yea right!), I was directed towards chakra material, specifically for clearing the solar plexus chakra (which non-coincidentally was part of a grandeur synchronicity involving the terms "solar plexus" and "supreme well-being" from a wise person I revere greatly. A kinesiology professor (my friends father) with an intense enthusiasm and zest for life).
I did some exercises to target the solar plexus area, and after about 36 hours, I then was able to find myself, find my ground, and had the best fucking sleep I've had in a VERY long time!! I also had one of the most beautiful and powerfully colourful and rich dream full of love and awe.
I'm now back in the drivers seat of my life. I have control of my emotions, my thoughts, and actions. While being true to my principles of compassion, respect, I find myself being a dominant force in the social interactions around me. Good things are coming my way, because I am being good to people. I do my best to present class and style, which people respect, and I treat people with that same respect. Doesn't matter who they are, I treat all with the same respect. I am also relying on my intuition to make the right decisions. Also, by continuously living in the moment, and not dwelling on the past of near/distant future, I have the energy to put in the effort to do everything in the "now" to reach a state of equilibrium with the things around me. I do all the tasks I need to do for the day. I don't relax unless everything I need to do is done. I love it this way. I do for myself, as much as I do for others.
I realized during this journey that I had some deep rooted aggression and hate from my passed experiences that I had bottled up inside so that they would not ever show face, due to my compassion towards people. I've been assaulted on multiple occasions, been walked on and spat on. I've also been loved, respected and revered. By virtue of this duality, I feel like I was forced to close the gap between these 2 sides of me so that I may gain new found strength and power in my life.
So now, I feel free! Almost as if I'm experiencing an after-glow from an amazing psychedelic trip. Except the difference now, is that I am using my mind and my free-will to maintain this state, and I plan to maintain it indefinitely. The aggression comes out if someone is unjustly stepping on my toes. I am simply matching my vibrations to that of someone who has little respect. If they show none, I give them back exactly that. I say what needs to be said so that equilibrium is attained in the relationships around me.
Life is about respect, compassion, and peace, so that we may all live rich and virtuous lives full of knowledge and magic.

Anyway, that was just a little story for anybody that is interested in perhaps finding a solution to any internal struggles/contradictions within themselves. Check out the chakra system. It has REALLY worked for me.
I feel so empowered and enlightened. At times I feel like shedding tears of joy and sorrow.
So, does anybody here know of any good material on Chakras?
Here is an interesting document for anybody to read regarding a professor who had found himself in an emotionless zombie-like state after years of hard work and literal non-sleep, and then acquiring help which then targeted his solar plexus chakra and saved his life.

It all made perfect sense to me! I'm happy you have found a center and equilibrium in life. About two years ago, I has a similar bout with the sleep deprived mind - like you, out of necessity came growth. As I felt I was losing my mind, and my chest was about to cave in before me, I started to be aware of my breath and how to be in the present moment. This was my first teaching a few months before I got into meditation.
Your post has actually given me renewed zeal to continue working on my own energy body. Robert Bruce has a great system entitled Tactile Imaging which focuses on awareness to draw in, collect, and balance energy. His system is also a precursor to achieving a conscious out-of-body experience, but you need not take it that far. I find it particularly useful because it is void of all the Eastern jargon which usually goes hand and hand with Chakras/energy work.

Thanks buddy!
I'm now duplex printing the entire document. For some reason (maybe from another thread that you may have posted the link to it), I already had Astral Dynamics already saved on my computer. It's as if though it was just waiting for me to read it. I figure printing it and reading it on my bed is a much more relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Hah...
I'm also slowly dabbling with the ancient art of QiGong, which has energy body balancing effects as well!

I've had lots of activity in the third eye chakra...once I got an intense buzzing there all of a sudden, it was like it exploded. Waves of heat started going through my body. Then within thirty minutes, I felt more peaceful and content then I can ever remember feeling. It was definitely a peak experience for me.

After just going over my voice recorder, I remembered a dream I had last night. Very synchronous that you posted this thread.
Here is the dream:
“The Platinum Heart Center” I was talking to deCypher about opening up the heart Chakra through meditation. DeCypher asked if “self talk” helps during meditation. I was talking with Dad about the solar plexus and heart chakra, and how Pete Peterson claims the importance of holding a new born babies head near this area. Dad said this is the case because of the “platinum” (and something else) located in this center. Dad said he had not done this entirely correct with Scotty. Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Roger were arguing at our house about offering us a free “car checkup” or oil change, when they might be able to use it on their own car.
__________________________________________________________________________
deCypher and I have been experimenting with dream communication, and I created a Sigil last night to facilitate such a thing. I'm curious to hear if he has experienced a similar dream as well. I've been getting this reoccurring dream theme where certain things are described to me as "metals", such as platinum in the case of this dream. Although the solar plexus is not the heart Chakra, the two seem to be intimately connected and in need of balance at this time in Western culture. I'm not familiar with alchemy, but it is the first thing I can think of when I get these metal references...
I just found this cool website too: http://www.innercosmos.com/solar_plexus.htm

The solarplexus chakra is also associated with one's relation to large social groups, ie, how one feels they fit in with the rest of society.
Similar to the spleen chakra, which deals with relationships on a 1v1 basis, one's relation to society is often felt (this is very simplified) as dominance vs submission, with various issues arising from taking either stance. Do you feel you need to seek the approval of society at large, worrying about how you compare to social standards (submission,) or do you feel little respect for society, and that others can be used and even abused for your benefit (dominance)?
An imbalance on either side is unhealthy, and will prevent you from centering yourself at the level of compassion and love, the heart chakra.
An exercise I have been doing lately involves bringing the lower centers into balance.
Both extremes exist within you. So first, I will find my submissive side, focusing on the parts of myself that are insecure do to a comparison to societies standards. I feel that out and exist there for a few moments. Then I find the other polarity, feeling the parts of myself that abuse and dominate others, resting in that perspective for a few moments as well.
Then I try and focus on both simultaneously, or rapidly swap between the two polarities. This recognition that I am both, not one or the other, allows me to move upwards to a broader perspective and see others as equals.
This can also be applied to 1v1 relationships, if you feel you are imbalanced when you are around a certain person. I just do the above exercise but with the a specific person in mind.
The idea of finding opposite polarities within you and bringing them into balance isn't mine, I heard it from a channel (Ra material?), I just personally apply it to the social functions of the lower centers to allow balance and then centering in the heart area.
