If you are not thinking anything, how could you be doing any of those things?  I don't really believe it, it just sort of logically follows.

I think you may be using thought more broadly than I am... I can conceive of halting all thought and still being in extreme pain.

At any rate if we're talking about ceasing all mental activity I think the only way to do this would be death and that doesn't sound too desirable.  I want to end hate, worry and all other suffering but not at the expense of love, curiosity and happiness.

I like the analogy.

What's ironic is that Lucifer is known as the light-bringer.  :sun:  Perhaps ignorance is really bliss and knowing Truth is Hell?

perhaps Light just means Knowledge or Learning. Both God and Satan, among countless other Beings(albeit mythic or not) were considered "Light-barers". I dunno..just a thought:shrug:

I believe sometimes we take words to strongly. I have perceived your question as if enlightenment is some kind of destination or place to be. Well that is not the case at all. We are all already enlightened.

No one is enlightened.  Everyone is enlightened.

If those words aren't contradictory to you, you could be enlightened.  Because if you know what enlightenment means, you will understand why they cannot be contradictory.
