Aphex Twin's "drukqs"

It's an amazing album. Brilliant! Richard James' best album, in my opinion. You should all buy it... now. Or... if you're going to download mp3s, get the tracks "Mt. Saint Michel Mix+St. Michaels Mount", "Vordhosbn", "Afx237 V7" and "Jynweythek Ylow" (nice song names, huh?). Those are a few good ones I can remember at the moment, the first one especially (I just received the album from amazon). A word of advice, though: don't expect instant gratification from Aphex Twin. It's kind of an aquired taste. EDIT: Also, if you like Aphex Twin, you should also hear Squarepusher, Autechre, and Plaid. All great artists of the same genre. EDIT2.0: drukqs on amazon.com

I had heard it many times before, but I only bought it last week, and I can honestly tell you that the more I listen to it, the more pleased I am. There is some very thought-provoking music in there.

I love those hardcore distorted Drill & Bass tracks! I can't get enough!
Definately more of a different sound to some degree than his previous albums.
My favorite is between drukqs and Ambient Works Volume 1.

I like it too. There's some obvious influence of John Cage in that album. Especially with the prepared piano pieces...

Actually, the album's biggest influence was from composer Erik Satie.

i've heard the album before and loved it but it's been a while since i've heard it again. i downloaded Mt. Saint Michel Mix+St. Michaels Mount at work today, but then i started drinking beer before i left and the forgot to throw it on a cd before i went home... i'll grab some more tommarrow to put with it... it's a shame to have a cd with 56 minutes worth of blank space anyhow

You also might wanna download '54 cymru beats'. Alot of people seem to think most of the titles are gibberish, and while some of them are, some are actually in gaelic.
Drukqs is actually a compilation of sorts, tracks richard d. james recorded over the past 3 years. The only reason he had to put it out is because of his misfortune - he had lost his mp3 player on an airplane and was afraid the whole thing might end up on the internet somewhere... and it might have.
other great IDM artists: phylum sinter [me] heheheh, proem, 2 lone swordsmen, plaid, mouse on mars. all well worth their weight in gold.
