Regina Spektor
    #11824201 - 01/13/10 06:40 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Anyone heard of her/like her music?

I think her style had some of the strongest influences on my taste of music now. I used to listen to her back in junior high; sort of comforted me in a time of relative loneliness and disorientation.

Born in Moscow.

I was mildly high the other night and my mind just suddenly remembered her music. It was wonderful, like I saw who I was four years ago, then suddenly saw who I am now. Life's weird like that.

I love Regina Spektor! My sis used to put in her music when we went on road trips. Fun stuff! Very cute voice...

i dont like her.

i know its weird but i really dont like bands with female lead singers. there are a few exceptions to this rule.. Garbage, old No Doubt, A Camp, and Portishead. but other than that i really dont like them at all.

The only song I like of hers is You Don't Know Me, but technically that's Ben Folds song. Still good though, especially since Tim and Eric are in the video.

My wife any I listened to her a bunch a few years back when Begin To Hope came out. She just released a new album. I've been meaning to give it a listen.

Rilo Kiley?

My prob with Regina is that, unlike Ben Folds, she's underwhelming live. Great in the studio, don't get me wrong, but I saw her and was let down. She's got one of those distinctive voices, like Janis or Bjork, but she came out flat live and it was hard not to feel cheated. Maybe she'd been touring too long?

Oh and Jenny Lewis (from Rilo Kiley) is fucking flawless live. And god she's fucking sexy...

I think she's good. She's a step above most others, maybe not live though.

yeah. Never seen her actually live, but from what I've seen on youtube, kind of awkward performing in front of a large crowd. Also, I don't think her on-the-spot interpretations are as good as what i hear on her actual albums.

My sister saw her live. I, unfortunately, (unbelievably,) have not seen ANYTHING live. I need to get off my ass. I'm the only one of my friends who's never been to a real concert

Hopefully some Explosions in the Sky with some mushrooms, pot, and some good friends. I'm patient, they're bound to come back to Colorado soon.
