Grain LC:
I put 1cc of burma and ATL spores into 100cc each of spawn and let it colonize. I then followed Agar's tek [link in my sig] and got 500cc each of super nice myc slurry. It takes a bit longer than sugar LC, but is more reliable and the end product is far superior. Rather than a sugary bath, the myc is in distilled water devoid of nutrients at the end of the process. Competing organisms have little chance of taking hold and the prospects for a long shelf life are far better.

Alright everybody heres we're we are right now.
Last night I knocked up 19 BRF jars. Things did not go smopothly, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in these jars. I learned a lot though!
I mixed up the BRF cakes using fresh ground flour and verm like the guide says. TEK says you should get 20 jars from what I made up but I only got 19.
Then came the pressure cooker... I ran around town but was unable to locate one at any store. (all sold out for Xmas) so I ordered one from Walmart. My mom had an old one in her garage so we used that. With no instructions it was hit or miss and it turn out the relieve valve was stuck open so the first 2 batched really got steamed for 90 minutes...and the 3rd got PC'd the right way.
So after that was done I let them cool and got to the business of knocking up the jars. I used a card board box I cut holes in and covered in saran wrap. Copious amounts of spray disinfectant were used. During this process I ran into 2 main problems.
#1- The nail I used to make the holes in the jars was too small. I didn't realize how big the needles were going to be! I had to peel the tape off inside the box to get the needle in the hole. Even so I broke 1 needle. Luckily the medical tape I used came off and reattached pretty easy.
#2- The needle kept getting clogged! I put more into some jars than I should have because the needle whould get clogged and when I forced the clog out a bunch of solution went with it.
Once the jars were knocked up and the foil back on them I put them in a disinfected box in the closet. The ambient temp in there has ranged from 67 to 71 over the course of the day so I set a small space heater for 77 degrees. I've got a probe in the box so I can keep track of the internal temp and turn it down if I need to.
I did the process with my brother and I am not sure we kept everything as sterile as is required. RR's video makes it look super easy and it probably is after a few times, but we were a little disorganized. LOL
I didn't use all thr strains I had..I made 5 jars of B+, Maz, and Puerto Rican and 4 jars of Amazon. I'll check on them in a few days and see whats up.

STOP. wait for your pressure cooker. it will become your dear lifelong friend. remember to keep it shiny so it can reflect you, and kiss it once in a while when it's cool.

the seringes are shitty and do stick. they suck cause they are not glass like they should be. to deal with your "spurting" issue, try refilling one you have emptyed with tap water and get an object, a pinball would work , and "tap" the plunger. try it and you'll see what i mean. looks like all the problembs you have run into are perfectly normal. keep up and keep posting! stick with RR and you will be able to do as you will, this i know.

Thought I'd update. This day 6 since inoculation.
I've got growth in every jar so at least we got that part right! So far the Amazonian strain is beating the pants off of everything. Some of the jars have half dollar size mycellium patches while most of the other jars have q-tip size spots.
Temp control has been tough so far. The heater I bought didn't work as advertised. My next thought was to put everything in in a tub with another tub full of heated water in the middle. Even with the water heated to 90 degress I can only keep the inside of air 3 degrees above ambient temps. So, these are staying around 74 degrees. The first few days were spent at 69 which I'm sure slowed growth.

Room temp is fine for colonization, don't sweat colonization temps too much. Your temps are more contam resistant anyways.

Update!
So we're going on day 10 since inoculation of the BRF jars. No contamination so far!!!! Maybe should have made the verm layer below the thread line of the jar, but no problems so far. Here's some pics.
B+ I did this strain first. I didn't shake the syringe which ahs led to inconsistent results.

Hawaiian- I only made 4 of these and 1 jar didn't grow at all. Looking at the jar it doesn't seem to have any ground flour in it...which is weird to say the least. Things were chaotic and I guess it's possible it got filled with straight verm from the wrong bowl. LOL

Amazonian- Was the fastest and so far best colonizer.

Mazatapec- Catching the Amazonian fast.

So far so good. At the beginning I forgot to shake the spore syringe and you can tell on the b+ especially. Some of those jars only have 1 or 2 spots growing instead of 4. I figure the Amazonian and Maz might be fully colonized in a week or so based on how much their growing each day.
After a lot of thought and reading I am going to spawn these BRF cakes to coir instead of fruiting as is. The effort is similar with much higher yields.
Beyond PF Tek...Grains!!! Guess whats in soaking in my kitchen right now? 10 cups of organic rye berries baby!! Ordered them from Amazon link.
Ready to laugh? Look at amazon's recommendation for people who buy this!

ROFL It takes a lot of people ordering shit together to make that happen. Coincidentally that is the same canner I bought from walmart. It's enormous and well worth the 70 bucks.
I'll be PC the rye tonight and inoculating tomorrow. I've got a syringe of Puerto Ricans and PF Albinos and I'll be making five jars of each. Those will be spawned to coir.
I had originally planned to use HPoo and bought a bunch from TennStud...before reading all the bad reports about him. I've sent an email asking for an estimated completion date but no response for several days. If he doesn't email me back by Friday I'll file a paypal claim I guess.
I made my own self healing jar lids with tyvek filters for the grain using teks on the forum. Way cool! I'll post back tomorrow and let you all know how the grain thing goes tonight.
Thanks everybody for your support!

Hi everybody!
Its been a few days since I updated the thread so..
Grain Jars On the 7th I knocked up my grain jars. Still no visible growth but from what i read on a multispore like mine it could take a while. Hopefully something will pop by the weekend. I did the recipe as instructed, but only got 9 jars instead of 10. So I did 4 jars of PR and 5 of PF Albino.
I was unable to bring the entire pot of water too a "rolling" boil on my stove...just a small one...so I spread the grain out to dry on the massage table.
Pic

Closer View (albeit out of focus)
I think I got everything right with this. I see a few popped grains in the jar but not many...maybe 2 a jar.
Speaking of jars...My PF jars are doing well. I have 5 that are 90-95% colonized!!! Instead of fruiting as cakes I am crumbling them and putting them into a coir substrate. I've devised a cool little mini bulk plan that involved plastic containers and the shotgun FC.
I'll be working on that tomorrow night and will post some pics shortly.
Anyway, so far so good. A little concerned about the grain jars but it's still early I guess.
