Sweet....you must get beautiful resolution, no I have not tried to see the comet yet, I actually have not had the scope out in a while. I know what you mean about the hassle of setting it up but even the 4 inch job takes time getting the mount correct!

I have a 6" reflector on an equatorial mount. I wanna trade in for a 4" apochromatic refractor so I could get a Hydrogen-Alpha solar filter and behold Sol in all its glory.

I have a Nexstar 4 and really wish I would have bought a dob or reflector that provides more light gathering than the 4". I can see many good things, but I am more interisted in objects like galaxies, than planets and star clusters. Looking at real close double and triple stars is quite something, though.

I love my telescope! I don't even know what kind it is (really fat, about 6"). I haven't done much with it lately but last year I was able to see 4 moons around Jupiter, which was way kewl! I've seen Saturn's rings (although not lately - in fact the last time they were almost perpendicular and weren't that stunning). I went to an amature 'scope builders display some years back that was very impressive.
Also, have you had the oppertunity to check out "Infinity Express" at your local observatory? That is right up our alley, if you get my drift!
Keep looking up!

i have a 250x telescope but unfortunately i don't got time to use it, plus i live around the city so its not that great. The best stuff I so with it (im an big amateur) is Saturn's rings, a Jupiter and a couple of its moons (that was soooo sweet) and I love looking at the Moon's craters and stuff.

Sounds like you've gone beyond observing and into exploration of deep space.
