ok, so i dont understand flow hoods much, but i understand one will make all work much easier. so to my knowledge what a flow hood is blow clean air away from you so that you dont need a glove box, correct?
so it sound pretty easy, couldnt one constuct their own? say take a large filter, mount it on the front of a box, and put a fan in behind it? or is ther something more that a flow hood does that i dont understand? and put another filter behind the fan?
because i just checked ebay and the cheapest one was like 300 or 400, not something im gonna spend that much money on.

Checkout the archives at the top of the cultivation forum. There is a whole section for flowhoods I believe. Agar constructed a nice one. I know there is a formula for chosing the right fan for your work area.

Constructing your flow hood is still going to cost close to $300 and require a moderate amount of skill.
It's not quite as simple as mounting a fan to a box with a filter. To get the right kind of flow out of the filter you need the correct equipment. That is a filter capable of laminar flow, a large fan to push enough air at a certain back pressure, and a plenum (the box) sized to the filter and fan.
There are tons of flow hood construction logs on here, check them out.
