Aquarium heaters are nice...since the mycobag is sealed you could probably even submerge part of it into the water. That would make it perfect.

You'll burn your house down!!! (remember the red rider bb gun christmas special)?
Make an incubator with a submersible aquarium heater. Here are a few different types.
or you can make this one. Use two different size rubbermaid containers.
Then put the submersible aquarium heater in the bottom of the larger one.
Then stick the smaller one inside the larger one.
Whala incubator.

Not sure where you live...but.
I went to Walmart last night with pleezr and they had some submersible aquarium heaters much cheaper than the ones I have been buying...they looked ok.
I use the Tronic submersible aquarium heaters. They are semi-expensive but I haven't had one burn out in over a year. And I have 5 of these....several different sizes...three 50 watt, one 150 watt and one 200 watt. I'd suggest getting the 150 watt....seems the easiest to dial in right to me.
The Ebo Jaggar submersible aquarium heaters are fantastic too. I used this brand for over 20 years when I had tropical fish. They are one of the most expensive though.
Main thing to look for when getting a submersible aquarium heater is... make sure that its fully submersible....some aren't!!!
I usually have between 3" to 4" of water in the bottom container.

i use a heating pad, and i have some input.
use a heating pad only if you HAVE to. you would be better off with the dual container setup mentioned above.
my experience: when the house gets about 60-70 degrees, the pad on the lowest temp setting will bring my terrarium up to 90 degrees. so what ive settled on, when i go to bed, ill turn it on. itll stay about 75 degrees when its 40 outside, and the house heater is on, and when i wake up, ill turn it off. allowing the 60-70 degree house temp control the temps.
basically, its too hard to control temps with a heating pad. right now, im ranging 60-90 degrees. not the best, but could be worse

when the veil tears is when you harvest.
if you have an even pinset, then youll have even growth. then, you can harvest all at once. some veils may have torn the day before, but some may still have veils. but you can still harvest all at once
if pinset is uneven, then harvest each as the veil tears.
as far as taking out the bag,you take it out the bag if youll case with it, but they can fruit in the bag if you wont case. you can take it out the bag if you want though. just make sure you have 100%colonization. you dont want contams

How does a pinset have anything to do with individual fruit harvest? Harvesting all at once may help induce a even set for the post flush. But if the pinset is already "set", how does it relate to the best time of harvesting each mushroom?

ok, lastnight i got all the supplys and constructed my incubator.when i last checked the tempature and it was at 84 F and seem to be satying there, would you say thats a good temp to keep it at or should i turn it down? i'm growing malabars and i read that they grow well at temps as high as 90? also on the topic of water should i add bleach to it for antimold purposes?

hi..bro
You want the temps in the incubator to stay at 84 degrees F....during colonization.
You will want the temps at 74 degrees F....when you are fruiting.
I use h202 in my incubator. I change the water out after each cycle of jars.

Optimal temps are best. When I fruited the Malabar it was super hot. Temps WERE in the high 80's. I was concerned untill it flushed like mad and seemed to be just fine. So yes, they will definately fruit in warmer temps. As for colonization, I dont think any strain should be incubated above the recomened temperatures, even the Malabar
