Blue Knots Overnight?

Greetings,
I'm sorry I don't have a picture, but overnight my six BRF cakes have gone from standard looking knots on the cakes, to having BLUE knots on the cakes?
It's a medium blue, and has only colored the knots themselves, not the cakes in general which is what really has me puzzled.
Any thoughts? Ackk!
Sincerely,
Sondor

Greetings,
I mist on a regular basis, and the cakes feel substantial, so I wasn't thinking dryness. Given the above, do you still think it's simply a case of them being too dry? Wouldn't dryness turn the cakes blue, and not just the knots?
Is there any chance they recover if they are simply too dry?
Thanks for the input!
Sincerely,
Sondor

Think of the knots getting windburned or something. It's like that. They stick out from the cake like your nose sticks out from your face. So if conditions aren't ideal, they feel it first.
You didn't say what kind of fruiting environment they are in, and we'd like more detail about misting, fanning, airflow, temps, etc.

misting doesnt compensate for low RH, it replaces the water that evaporates of the sub, and triggers pinning (accompanied with fanning)
we're talking about the conditions of the air surrounding the cakes, not the cakes
and they probably arent knots, just aerial myc
give us some info on where these are fruiting and suchh

Greetings,
It's a SG FC per RR's video to the 'T'. I mist/fan ~6 times a day, and two days ago I introduced 2x 6500k lights at ~1,000 lumens each in addition to the natural daylight through a small window.
Temperature is a little low, but consistently ~65.

Sondor

And at this point, pics are in order. We need to see what's going on, not just read about it.

Oh, that's pretty cold. Can you bump that up a few degrees into the low 70's?

Greetings,
I can, but would that explain and recover the blue knots?
(sorry, camera just went south, so no photo's)

No, I think the blue is from dryness. But temperature is a factor in fruiting.

i agree it sounds like your cakes are dry try dunking them that will replace the moisture that has been lost

Greetings,
I colonized them at a lower than average temperature, and it simply took a little longer. Does a lower than ideal temperature explicitly inhibit pinning/growth, or simply slow it down as it does while colonizing?

Also rewet your perlite, and check the calibration of your hygrometer. Good luck!
