Does anyone know if there is a saturation point where alcohol can no longer absorb THC.
I want to know this because Im stewing 2 ounces of buds in a 5th of everclear.
And I notice that it is a very different color to the other greendragons I have seen.
Others have been light green to a dark absinthe color.
Mine was black after 20 minutes.
Im just wondering if I should add another 5th of everclear.
Right now the ratio is 2 1/4 grams of dank per fluid ounce.
but if the alcohol is saturated with thc and cant absorb anymore, maybe I should add another bottle just in case any of the weed didnt get extracted
Any ideas?
Plus my new years resolution is not to touch this bottle until new years eve

yes of course there is. but i have no idea what that would be. and i'll be willing to be that it would be very hard to find out how much weed to booze you would need for the ideal ratio.
ever try green dragon? imo it sucks.

I like budder. But the come on takes a long time. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE edibles.
I just thought it would be interesting to try.
plus my friend had two zones of a couple month old bud that he flipped me for close to nothing. So I figured it wouldnt hurt to give it a whirl.
AND I feel like showing my friends how its done RIGHT
the only time I had ever seen greendragon in person was when a friend of mine made it but she used only an 8th of buds in a $10 5th of rum. It barely tinged the liquor green at all. It just looked like a green and clear snowglobe. Then she drank it 2 weeks later, saying she felt nothing, even with 3 shots, just the drunk feeling.
With mine, it changed color as soon as I poured the everclear over the weed dust. It turned the more brilliant sharp emerald green but quickly "Fade to Black"
and if the ratio is right, one shot will be enough to get you slightly drunk and higher than you could taking 2 one gram gravity bong rips, toasted. One shot has 2.25 grams of dankness
I have not seen the jar in 24 hours, its just chillin in a frinds dresser now. 2011 is going to be off the chain.

I found some formulas and did some calculations and came to the conclusion that I can add up to another 2 ounces of dank to the bottle.
A 1 ounce shot would be equivilant to a little over 5 grams
right now its a little more than 2 gms per ounce
It kinda scares me.
Ill just have to take one drink in the morning and not smoke until the afternoon(if I even need to at all)

You are aware that ingesting a fuckton of weed this way most likely makes you fall asleep and wake up dazed a couple hours later?
I love edibles and alcohol extraction is probably the easiest way to go, but the right dosage between "it does nothing" and "knockout after 45 minutes" can be tricky.
I'd stick with 2 grams per shot. That sounds about right to me.

it just interested me to find that i could fit that much more in there
Plus I could always drink a red bull, or take some molly to stay awake
And I know that this is One Hitter Quitter green dragon

Why not just completely saturate it and take like a third/half of a shot? Then you get more THC high and less everclear drunk.

Then it dawned on me, EVAP that shit!
That way I can take just a dropper full splashed into beer or some other mixed drink.

Please do this and report back! A little vial of potent, liquid cannabinoids would be awesome.
Possible problem: if you reduce it too far, mightn't you end up with a sticky mess?

ok, i took a shot 30 minutes ago
my esophogus is still stripped
I was already drunk of a few pints and stoned from a few or two volcano bags
Then I took the plunge
I will not smoke anymore tonite, Ill just see how far I can get before I pass out.

I definatly have to evap this stuff to make it consumable on an enjoyable level.
That was soo putrid
I could easily put down 10 shots of cactus juice before I took one more shot of this vile bile.
But it did the trick, I got sooper loaded.
But I would like to try it when Im sober to see how well it really works.
Ad if I evap it down, I would be able to take multiple doses.

which method are you using?
you shouldn't need a whole shot to get fucked up. it should be from half a dropper to a full dropper full to get fucked up.

I had two ounces of buds
I ground them up like I was going to roll a hundred joints
Warmed in oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes
Placed in jar, poured everclear in
Was going to let sit for a year, but my chemist major friend told me it would be ready to drink the day after.
Manned up and took a shotglass full

ah. try this method next time. it's more efficient.
1. Grind 3.5g of bud.
2. Place and spread out ground material in a shallow pan and bake at 325°F for 5 minutes.
3. Remove from oven and combine it with 3 fl oz of grain alcohol (i prefer using lemon extract) in a pyrex measuring cup.
4. Turn the oven fan on high. Simmer the jar in a 1 inch high water bath for 20 minutes. Maintain a temperature between 160°F – 170°F inside the jar. Use a candy thermometer to monitor this.
5. Pour the tincture through a regular kitchen mesh strainer into a collecting jar. Then, load the leftover plant material into a garlic press. Squeeze the leftover material over the collecting jar to extract as much tincture as possible.
