Thrichocereus Bridgesii Montrose
    #11770368 - 01/05/10 02:31 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Well, I seem to have come across s a couple Trichocereus Bridgesii Montrose cacti. Is there anything different from regular Bridgessi that I need to know to grow these Montrose varieties?
I read that they are slower growing, and weirder looking, but could I still just grow them in the sunny room of my reg. temp house?

Outdoor sun would be preferable, but as it is probably a bit chilly there, indoors will do for now.

As with all T. bridgesii, watch how much water they get as they are more susceptible to rot than most Trichocereus.

It's still a trichocereus, which means window light may not always be sufficient. I'd definitely induce dormancy during the winter.

I have found out that not all T. bridgesii strains are water sensitive.

I brought a Bridgesii cutting in Uruguay and it stays outdoors, takes as much rain as my pachanois.

Nice, that would certainly be nice to have.

Mine so far have taken rain and then cold snaps, I attribute part of that to the soil though.
