electrical tape instead of foil?

wanted to know if i can use electrical tape instead of foil to cover the holes in my lids ( pf tek ). out of foil, and dont want to go to the store tonight.will the tape hold or will it melt? or should i just wait until tommorrow?

I woudn't bother taking the chance if it does melt it could get inside the jars. If u are boiling then i'd be worried about the tape peeling off and moisture getiing inside the jar and overmoisturizing your cakes

I use duct tape on all my jars. Works great!  :laugh:

You should be ok, I pressure cook jars of birdseed for 90 minutes with the duct tape, no probs.

i alway thought that i had to use foil and duct tape. but if you say you have no problems then thats a step im willing to cut out :smirk:
