The Bible-Code was a good read, but sadly it has been heavily disproved. By taking any series of letters and arranging them into a grid of X*Y where X and Y are variables it is possible to come up with whole words. Blue Donut done it with the Microsoft License Agreement. Take a look, they explain it a lot better:

Whoa!!! I need to get the complete interpretation of Microsoft's guide.

j/k

I considered what the people at the Digital Fun House proved and would definately have taken the idea into consideration as I read.

Thanks for the link!

The equa-distant letter sequencing of the codes found in the bible is amazing!I do not know anything about the prophetic value of these codes, but they are amazing.
They did not reconstruct the surface text to create this sub-text of codes unless they did it 1100 years ago! That is how old the masoratic text is.That is where they got the codes from. With the exception of a few letters , this text was identical to the ones found near the dead sea. They date back to over 2000 years ago.I have studied the bible as well as the hebrew language and these codes are amazing! At the very least they are not a hoax.BTW, I am not religious, so I have no agenda.

The guy at cnet is clever ,but not very factual! He did not follow the strict rules of decoding equa-distant letter sequencing. I would have to see the whole text as well to know if he shifted the lines to create the appearance of a sub-text.I love the way he put commas in there to space the letters out. This person obviously has a bias against the bible.

The way I understand it is that the bible was translated in to Hebrew, and the lines where moved in that also.

Yes. The masoretic Jews of around 900 ad did translate the septuagent(the greek tran.) and the Vulgate(the latin tran.) Back into the hebrew language. The hebrew language was a dead language during this time.It was done very meticulously. Then in the 20th century the dead sea scrolls were found. The masoretic text was identical except for a few letters.I don't know what it all means, but I am impressed nonetheless.

Most of the codes are not based on schemes. They are determined by thier letters spatial relationship to each other. That is one of the things he said that was untrue.
