The pachanoi colums are about 25" and the bridgesii is around 32".

So the pachanoi part is a backberg?
I really prefer the way the bridgesii looks, its really cool to see how its got much more of a blue sheen to it compared to the other. Also the pach has nothing on its spines of the bridge. You can't see from the pic but right where the two columns are close together the pach is all scarred up from the huge spines.

Zircon is going to cut himself again over this.

Nice specimen. I wonder how water resistant it would be. The bridgesii is very sexy :awesome:

Here is some better pics for all of you. I bet it would be just as resistant at a PC pach would... don't know about frost resistant though. Good thing it doesn't usually get that cold here! Do you think the I should be at all concerned about the black areas where the spines from the bridge dug into the pach?

So should I be worried at all about where those spines cut in? For the most part it looks like they healed over in other areas, but some of the more recent ones are kinda black... I'm a little concerned about it starting to rot.

It would probably be best to remove the pup that is getting cut.

Although it wont directly mean infection it certainly ups the possibility.

Zircon makes me :crankey:

You can snip the spines on that side if you want, it wont hurt anything.

Cacti can also eventually dissolve the neighbors spines that are jamming into them.  (if the rot isn't spreading, it should be alright)
