Brown rice question
    #1175355 - 12/28/02 12:37 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

What should brown rice look/feel like after its cooked for cultivation purposes? I just cooked up my first batch and it has an almost dry but sticky feel to it right now and it's clumping together. I'm under the impression this isn't what I want, I've always assumed you wanted each grain to be seperate and not clump together. Will sterilization dry it out at all? Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Are you making plain brown rice to inoculate in jars?
Or are you making brown rice flour/verm cakes?

No I cooked it and felt it, I was asking if the heat in the sterilization process will dry it out at all.

Didn't think so, I threw out those to quarts of rice anyway. Not sure if I'll try rice again or not. I may stick to BRF/Verm for now, I just wanted something that wouldn't take a month to colonize.
