Anno, there is certainly a lot of useful info on those FAQ pages. i still think eric's idea of clicking a list of species names is a good one though, especially if it linked to a real shroomery member's growlog. that'd allow awesome q-and-a of the grower for tips by pm.

it'd be a pain in the ass to reorganise links by species i know, and you already do so much for this place ( go do some studying  ) but do you not think the idea has some merit? imagine: click the species for useful links and logs (they're not linked to anything, it's just me showboating) -

pleurotus species (oysters)
lentinus (shiitake)
hypsizygus (shimeji)
agaricus (buttons, portabellos)
agrocybes (poplar)
flammulina (enoki)
grifola (maitake)
pholiota (nameko)
hericium (lion's mane)
ganoderma (reishi)

etc...

now this link is a great one for many of those:  real link ...but wouldn't it be good if something like that article was an entryway into a gourmet links menu? i'm sure many would help by doing a species each....

thanks anno.

i thought that section of the faqs was gone. i was using the java menu to look, but couldn't find it.

i see how to get there now.

i still think my idea is a good one and hope it makes it on the board somewhere. i think it would help many people.

Cool Anno and Henry. I'm about to start on some shiitake, chicken/hen of the woods, and oysters. Looking to get into more edibles later.

I reorganized the Gourmet mushrooms section a bit and added a few documents.

http://www.shroomery.org/18/Gourmet-Mushrooms

If you find any interesting links on the net, feel free to add them directly to the section(see link in my signature to learn how), or post the link here so I or someone who knows how can add it.

I couldn't find the add button on the flammulina cultivation document.
I would like to add these links and pictures to the document:

Funny how they look if you invert colors:

Ragadinks said and postedI have found some pictures of Enoki and thought that I would share them:

* In autumn I have found these wild Enoki (Flammulina velutipes):

* I have cloned them (which was quite hard) and now they are growing on a petri dish in my fridge  like in this picture:

* Here is another strain that I got from zeronio (thanks man) fruiting in a jar:

* And here the same strain on a block of wood fuel pellets (probably fir):

* Have also taken some prints of this strain:

Another post by zeronio,

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/2286066#Post2286066

It's very cold in my grow room (5C) and the humidifier failed, but these enoki grew even if the sawdust block almost completely dried out...

I prepared a bag of F. velutips woodchips to be used as inoculum for tree stumps in spring.
The bag was colonized since february and was stored for more than one month at around 6?C in dark.

Today I checked it and found this:
