i would think it would survive, as it get's quite cold in the upper PNW too, though i couldn't say for sure.

They would come up in Fall and beginning of Winter...not Spring.
Not sure if the winter would kill them off in the North East.
I think Anno has a harsher Winter than any of us and his came back.

If it's an outdoor patch on your property, or close to, why not insulate it before snow comes?
Put down a nice layer of straw to insulate, or plastic tyvek, or both?
Just a suggestion I thought might work, I'm sure the straw wouldn't affect azures growth, and you could always put plastic down, then straw on top for easy clean up in spring! 
Just a thought!

natural selection bro. only the strong survive. if a winter would kill shroom mycelium where you are, then there wouldnt be any in the first place. yeah, uh, i think mycelium/spores can stand cold better than heat.

A central Pa. azure patch I know of survided at least one winter by insulating with a couple inches of straw and augmenting the bed with some additional wood chips.

i was going suggest insulating with straw, i used that method to grow asparagus in N.Dak. burrbrrbrrbrrbrrbrr i dont plan on going back there anytime soon !!

i happen to live in the area where azures grow wild.
the answer to your question is HELL NO!
sorry, don't mean to pee on your camp fire, but the habitat in which azures normally live ( check Stamets if you don't believe me) is within about 1000 yards of the pacific ocean.
why? because in these areas, the water in the ocean keeps the air warm which in turn keeps the soil temperatures above freezing. also, in their native habitat, there are often wind-blown drizzle and mist storms that may last for an entire month without ever stoping. this moisture also keeps the wintertime soil temperature at about 40 degrees F or above.
it may be possible to cover the bed with like a foot of straw during the winter to keep the cold off. worth a try. azures are not an easy specie to grow compared to cubies, which are very forgiving.

With some care azures will grow in the N.E. Some thought as to the placement of your patch and some additonal waterings help. I know of a patch in the ridges of central Pa. that has made it a couple years. I grant it is not native so will not thrive as it does in the Pacific N.W. but potatoes came from South America and we can grow them too.
