good and evil, god and devil, path to the middle

we've all seen the cartoons where the characater wants to do something bad. and a devil and angel appear on his shoulders. kindess vs temptation to do harm. good vs. evil. the morals forced into your being by the society you live in vs. the natural urges we all feel.

after all...arent we animals?

god= good. devil= bad. thinking along these terms, the devil becomes nothing more than the urges one has , that society has labeled as wrong or immoral. the darker side of the personality and spirit. (i believe each persons mind is multifaceted). god becomes nothing but the urges that society will clap you on the back for. the lighter side of the personality. the will to do "good".

but where do lines get drawn? a path needs to be found. a trail thru the debris that clutters up every decision we make with moral dilemma. i would like to help find this path. i want to know good. i want to know evil. i want to the extremes. i want to see the line that divides them. i want to rest in purgatory and be able to view the two sides.
