i have one fruiting chamber thats a big tub with some holes with polyfil. i couldnt keep humidity so i taped up some holes. i have perlite and a screen in the bottom. its been atleast a week. still no pins. another fruiting chamber is one of those metal popcorn tins with perlite and a screen and i stabbed holes in it. saran lid. still no pins, the cake looks like its actually drying out. my 3rd fc, i taped straws to the corners on the gladware container i colonized my cake in and made a tent of saran wrap around it, still nothing. why cant i get pins? temp is between 60-70. misting 2-3 times a day... any help is nice. this is the first time i havent been able to fruit then i have nice cakes.

That's why there's no pins. You need FAE, lots of it.

those sound like some ghetto ass fc's haha.
make a shotgun fc just like one in RR's videos. dunk your cakes after you birth them and wait. sometimes it takes longer for pins if the conditions arent just right

It took 12 days for pins to form on my cake. Your room temp is lower so that might be slowing things down. Maybe you should mist and fan more.
Just my thoughts!

I don't know what the general consensus on this is for cakes, but maybe you could try wax paper around it? I was having humidity issues too, so I crumpled up a piece of wax paper and put it around the cake kind of like a wax paper dome. That way it traps in the moisture from the cake and perlite beneath it and maintains a high humidity near the surface.
