read the sticky(first thread in the forum). [edit: ok, i'll be a little helpful. id questions belong in the mushroom hunting forum. if you post a question there be sure to read it's sticky on IDing. there are a list of required deatails you should include with a pic that make identification much easier.]
it looks like a half dried, unexpanded cubensis. but from that pic i won't commit. it would be realy helpful to know where it came from [purchased, found in wild, etc...]

If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Ouch, why are people so hostile at the shroomery. The mushrooms are supposed to be about expanding our minds. Peace, love, and understanding. Instead of insulting the poor guy let's ask him what we need to analyze the shroom. ie. Take a spore print, where was it growing and what kind of trees were they ? And please take a clearer picture.

Hey man, well first off, I hope you know that you cant just pick up a mushroom and say "Oh, its a Psilocybin shroom". There are many, many, many....MANY look a likes. Using Statmets book to ID a random mushroom found in your front yard will not help you much.
Read the sticky thread by Anno up here in the hunting forum, it says which things you need to describe. Like: where was it growing, how big it is, what climate do you live in, is it hollow, does it bruise, does it have a veil, any smells, whats the spore deposit color?
There is absolutely no way someone could ID this mushroom without any information. I'm not flaming you, but, just giving you a heads up so people here at the shroomery can help.
So try askign some of those questions for us to get a better understanding. Even with that, its hard to ID without a perfect description and not being there to see it first hand.

Very true, yet a bit bold. I have a pet peev of this situation. You cant put it much better than you did.
You cant expect things to be handed to you. Noone wants to spoon feed another lazy person. Its not too difficult to try and find the information yourself.
